Crosshall Marine CCTV Privacy Notice

Crosshall Marine Limited uses overt CCTV to help protect people, boats, vehicles, stock, buildings and equipment and to prevent, detect and investigate crime. This notice explains how we use recordings and how to contact us.

Who is responsible

Information recorded

Cameras record video images of people, vehicles and activity within monitored parts of the marina, chandlery, workshop, yard, car park and access areas. Recordings may include date, time and camera or event metadata. Audio is disabled. We do not use facial recognition, biometric identification, automated profiling or productivity analysis.

Purposes and legal bases

Crime prevention, detection and investigation: UK GDPR recognised legitimate interest, crime condition.
Protection of boats, vehicles, stock, buildings, equipment and access points: Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interests.
Proportionate safety, legal, insurance and incident management: Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interests or legal obligation where a specific law requires the processing.

Where footage concerns a suspected or alleged offence and is processed as criminal offence data, we rely on a condition in Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 2018, normally Part 2 paragraph 10 on preventing or detecting unlawful acts.

Retention

Routine footage is automatically deleted or overwritten within 30 days and may be overwritten sooner. A specific clip is retained for longer only where necessary for an investigation, police request, legal claim, insurance matter, rights request or another recorded lawful purpose. It is reviewed and deleted when that purpose ends.

Access sharing and storage

Access is restricted to authorised personnel and contracted service providers. Where necessary and lawful, limited footage may be disclosed to police, insurers, solicitors, courts, regulators or people exercising data protection rights. We consider other people’s privacy and redact or limit footage where appropriate. Footage is stored in the secured Tapo environment using local and, where enabled, contracted cloud storage. Any overseas access or storage must use an approved UK transfer mechanism and appropriate security.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, object to our use of footage, or ask us to restrict, erase or correct information. To help us locate footage, provide the date, approximate time, location and a description or image that identifies you. We may ask for proportionate identity evidence. Rights may be restricted where necessary to protect others, preserve an investigation or comply with law.
