The Shetland 640 was in production from 1972 to 1978 and approximately 400 were built in this time. The craft is designed for river and fair weather coastal use.
The cabin has 2 single berths in the dinette area which convert to a large double berth. There is a galley and separate toilet compartment. The cockpit is fitted with a helm seat and 2 seats which can be used as occasional berths. The shallow V hull is designed to take outboards up to 45 HP.
